vaio computer with Vista does not respond to removing password boot on usb

Hi and thanks. I’d forgotten my log on password to my Vista on a VAIO so I used my laptop to look for help.  Eventually I decided to use a download from  recoverytool.com on my USB to use as a boot.  The VAIO, even when unplugged and safe mode selected the boot still goes to log-on without any recognition of the USB or program.  Hope I’ve described things clearly. Thanks for your time.

Hi!
If I understand your problem, you need to recover your files (because you’ve lost your windows password). I recommend you to use Ubuntu as Live disk to boot on. You can access your files if no encryption is used on your disk drive.
To be able to boot from your USB device you need to configure your PC. You need to access BIOS (press F1, F2 or F3 after turning your computer on) and go to BOOT section. There you have to select USB device before other options.
Hope this will help you!
