Well … it happen to me to have installed on my computer a lot of additional new fonts. Around 2000. Some of them ware installed manually but most of them was found on a collection on the internet. After I installed all this fonts I start to experience a lot of problems with the way some websites and applications were showing information (strange scripts or ugly fonts). The problem was that I replaced some of the default fonts and the only solution was to restore my windows font folder to its default form. For that I followed this steps:

1. I went to C:\Windows\Fonts (C:\ is my Windows drive) and I deleted as much fonts as i could. (ctrl+a to select all and delete key to delete … skipped where the system couldn’t remove the files)

2. Download the default Font folder :

Windows7DefaultFonts (183.5 MiB, 6308 downloads)

Dropbox mirror: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fj3afhieosualan/Windows7DefaultFonts.zip

3. Extract the content of that folder.

4. Select all the files in the extracted folder (ctrl+a)

5. Right click and select Install

And that’s it. Hope you’ll enjoy. The post picture can be found here.

WOW. I had installed a bunch of fonts for a program that I use. Then few days later noticed a few fonts different. Then installed iTunes and most of the words/info was plain blank. I hate to be a nuisance, but it seems like the download link to the fonts folder is up, but the link is not active. Unfortunately, I get a big, fat, ugly ’404 Error’ page.

Just trying to get this issue resolved as it seems that this is the only thing that has seemed to work for all these people.

Any assistance is once again, hugely appreciated. Thanks!

  58. Bogdan says:

@John … Try without any download accelerator. It should work (I’ve tested the link on 3 different computers/internet connections and worked). If you still encounter problems let me know and I can help you with a direct link (like dropbox or something).

  59. How big is the file size & do it have ALL the window 7 default fonts?. Please answer me and thank you in advance.

  60. Bogdan says:

187,673.43 KB (aprox. 183.5 MB) in size and includes the default Windows 7 “Fonts” folder.

  61. folkbane says:

Hi, I tried to download the file, but it stops at 174 MB so the archive is corrupted! I need these fonts a lot. Please, help me

  64. wendell butanas says:

I tried downloading it twice but I can only get up to 112MB of data then it stops downloading. I tried to unzip it to extract but it can’t open. I badly need help.

  65. Bogdan says:

Please try without using any download accelerator. You have to download the entire file (183.5 MiB) otherwise you will not be able to extract the .zip archive.

  66. qdv says:

    thank you

  67. kringkring says:

Tried downloading 3 times. It always stops at 168MB :( i really need these fonts and it seems that only you have them. Maybe you can upload it somewhere else? Please help. Thanks in advance. </3

  68. shelley graham says:

Hi there, my download won’t complete either, please could you send to me via dropbox. Also pretty desperate to get hold of these fonts. Thanks so much in advance!!!!!!

  69. Bogdan says:

Ok ,,,, I put this folder on Dropbox … you can find it here:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/fj3afhieosualan/Windows7DefaultFonts.zip

  70. shelley says:

Thank-u! Is the download supposed to take 20min from dropbox, not sure if my internet connection is too slow? Would it be at all possible to share the folder directly to my dropbox? Or is that not okay from your side???? Thanks so much for your response!

  71. shelley says:

Ok now, I’m feeling pretty thick. The fonts are all in my dropbox folder, and when I looked before I didn’t see them. But before I delete all my existing fonts, I wanted to check I understood everything you said. So within my drop box folder I clicked on all the fonts in the font folder and right clicked to install. BUT it doesn’t give me an install option only: open, cut, copy, delete and properties. What am I doing wrong please? (as I said haven’t actually deleted the other fonts through fear of doing something wrong, or getting halfway and getting confused) So appreciate all this help. Thank-u so much!!!!!! Clearly no computer wizz-kid me!!!!!

  72. dead boy says:

shelley, that sounds as if you first have to get them out of the zip archive. Click “copy” and insert the files into another folder. There, you select them all, right click and then you should be able to hit “install”.

Bogdan, I also encountered problems with the original download link. The download stopped at a file size of 166.768.640 bytes. You may want to put the mirror link into the article, because this download worked absolutely fine.

    I like your website.

Thank you so very much for the upload and the support you provide. <3

  73. Dana says:

I’m running a Linux distro with LXDE and I was looking for a couple of MS fonts like arial, tahoma, verdana, times new roman, calibri and segoe ui, and I found them in your pack. Thank you very much.

Although I’m grateful, this is not the reason of my comment. I wanted to let you know that your fonts are not visible on systems that don’t have your fonts used by the CSS theme file. You should add to your font-family of the options: sans or sans-serif, at the end. Just in case the visitors don’t have the fonts you are targeting.
